Fortunately, the city of Koblenz was mostly spared from the heavy rain event that took place in the night of July 15th. Therefore, a vacation in the city is still possible without any flood-related limitations. The cycling and hiking trails on the Rhine and Moselle are also accessible and free of flooding.
The aftermath of the flooding has presented many of our neighboring cities and communities with previously unforeseen challenges during the middle of the already challenging Corona Crisis. The Ahr Valley, which was heavily damaged, is only a 40 minute drive from Koblenz and many of the city’s and region’s citizens are currently on location assisting with the recovery efforts.
